SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va., October 30, 2023 – AVN Corp. announced today that Brooke Albin, Senior Manager of Laboratories, has received the Emerging Leader Award from The Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA). The award recognizes rising leaders making a significant impact in their organizations.

Her process design expertise and leadership skills have benefited our organization time and time again. Albin joined AVN in 2007 as a chemical engineer focused on research and development related to crystallization and solids handling. She held various positions of increasing responsibility until being named Senior Manager of Laboratories in May 2023. She has received tens of patents and contributed a chapter to the book “Integration and Optimization of Unit Operations” related to crystallization process development and commercialization.
Albin received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Alderson Broaddus College and a Master of Science in chemical engineering from West Virginia University.
SOCMA introduced the Emerging Leaders Network Peer Group and Award in 2019 to support chemical industry professionals moving into management roles. Albin will be presented with the award at a ceremony during the SOCMA Summit in November in New Orleans, La.
