A company had been investigating a process to recover metal salts from used lithium ion batteries and wanted assistance from AVN in developing a step in the process, the dissolution of crushed battery contents. The exothermic process needed to be carried out under carefully controlled conditions. A series of tests was performed and analytical information was generated on the compositions of the products of these experiments.
