Catalysts were being developed for a liquid phase reaction of interest to a customer. AVN assembled three parallel fixed bed reaction systems with continuous feeds of the reactants. The units were operated around the clock with periodic mass balance and composition analyses over a period of more than 12 months. The effects of different feed sources and operating conditions were evaluated, and the long-term stability of the catalysts was proven.
