A customer had conceived of a hydrocarbon oxidation process and wanted to develop the concept at larger scale, eventually leading to continuous operation. AVN investigated the individual steps in the process and assisted in gaining an understanding of some previously unanticipated side-reaction chemistry and how to minimize it. Selected parts of the process were operated continuously at pilot scale to generate information for further scale-up.
