A company was exploring technology for processing used motor oil into high quality lubricating oil. Distillation of crude used oil commonly generates undesirable levels of odorous emissions, so pre-treatment options to reduce the odor potential were of interest. AVN designed and carried out a series of laboratory tests of treatments followed by distillation. After evaluating the results, a pilot scale operation was initiated, which processed several drums of crude product for the customer.
