A non-traditional vegetable oil was being considered for additional end uses, and AVN Corp. was asked to investigate processes to refine samples for evaluation. Selected absorbents were tested under a range of conditions for bleaching the oil. AVN Corp. also set up a specialized distillation column to carry out continuous steam stripping under high vacuum as a deodorization step. Samples were prepared for chemical analysis and sensory evaluation.
